Gold Coast World Masters Golf Championship

More than 500 golfers and partners from around the globe, national and international visitors, converged on the Gold Coast for the 28th annual Gold Coast World Masters sponsored by Everything Fleet.

The 72-hole tournament was played at Links Hope Island, RACV Royal Pines, Palmer GC and Palm Meadows, with golfers from 179 golf clubs, including 120 ladies, competing for more than $70,000 in prizes. Big winners include:

  • Jenny McDonald from Southport Golf Club (QLD), who won the 8-day Viking European River Cruise.
  • Carol Roberts, a non-golfing partner from Muree (QLD), won a 5-star ‘golfing’ holiday to Thailand – staying 4 nights in both Hua Hin and Pattaya and 8 rounds on the top-ranking courses the country has to offer.
  • The ‘last man’ standing was ‘Johno’ Johnson from Bannockburn (QLD), and he won an NCL European Golf Cruise for 2, including return flights valued at more than $15,000!

While golf is the hero, the event was packed with social and entertainment, plus great meals and drinks on offer. Fostering fun and friendship, celebrations kicked off at Topgolf, and golfers convened each night at Australia’s biggest 19th Hole in Broadbeach. The final night gala presentation dinner was an elaborate affair at The Star Casino.
